New plan

Now that it has been 3 months since these events, I can write them with more perspective, but during them, it was an extremely stressful time. Here is what happened.

We were traveling on a gravel road early in the morning on our way to White Sands, nothing like the one we were on in Big Bend, but it was a country road. Over a hill was a washout that pulled the vehicle into a ditch with a rather large rock. The camper bounced and broke the buckles. Needless to say, the car had damage. Due to some incredible handiness on Cam's part, we were able to drive the vehicle to a Ford Dealership. I won't bore you with details of insurance calls and car talk, but we were not driving anywhere. We spent about a week in Alamogordo, NM eating pizza and going bowling before we got a U-Haul and moved all our stuff to Phoenix where we had some friends willing to house us while we planned our next move.
We were pretty sad about the incident and didn't really know what to do. We had spent 3 years saving for a trip of a lifetime and while we were money conscious, the biggest loss was time. We didn't want to loose two months of our trip to going back to Chicago. So what to do? We bought the cheapest ticket to Europe.

Until next time!
