Houston

To be honest, I am super behind in posts as some people know full well, so I am going to rush a bit through this next one even though our weekend in Houston was super fun! Chris and Christall were amazing hosts and made fajitas I am still thinking about today (have to also give a shoutout to our lord and savior, HEB). There are two major highlights: Astros and puppies. I’ll explain.

The Houston Astros are a baseball team, which I did not know prior to arriving in Texas, but apparently they are a big deal. On Saturday, we went to watch the game downtown and it was absolutely packed. People were lining up outside almost every bar and there was little to no possibility that we would be granted access to any place to watch the game. As we were passing one bar, we noticed that the TV was positioned outside, so we posted up, got beers from the corner store, tacos from a nearby stand, and engaged in some old-fashioned illegal street drinking. Can’t say I know much of what happened in the game, but it was super fun 😊 Oh…and the Astros won!

The following day, we also took a stroll in downtown Houston and stumbled upon some abandoned puppies. Next thing we know, they are in the car and we are driving back. It was hard to take my eyes off them the next couple of days, they are so so cute. The most recent update is Val (the girl) remained with Chris and Christall as a new household member and Tuve was given to a loving home. Feel good moment.

Until next time!
